My home town, is a
HALF mile down

Loyston, Tennessee
Loyston, Tennessee was a small, fairly unknown town until the announcement of the Tennessee Valley Authority's creation of Norris Dam. Because Norris Dam was the first project after the creation of the TVA it was quickly thrown into the nation's spotlight as its residents were moved out of the path of the future lake.
As with many small Tennessee towns, not much is known about its history other than the typical historical pattern- slowly families gradually began moving from the Eastern coast into the insides of America in the late 18th and 19th century.
Ultimately, almost 3000 families or 14,000 people left the land due to the creation of Norris Dam [1].
